Irena Vladimirsky

Head of the History Department
Achva Academic College

My main research interest are intellectual history (mostly Russian and Eastern Europe of 18th-19th centuries) and history of academic institutions and academic writing there.

One of my recent projects was devoted to the history of the Russian Encyclopaedia and I would like to develop this subject further. As well I'll participate in 2013 ECRSA conference within the panel on Germans in Russia. The paper I'm working on is devoted to Yakov Grot, one of the oustanding personalities of the 19th century Russia. I intend to continue my research on foreigner's travelogues to Russia during 18th-early 19th centuries
